WHY DO YOU WANT IT?

When we hear this question, the answer is going to be an argument, or at least that is expected as a result of the equation: why - - -?: Argument. Used in the context you prefer, that's the way this interesting question works. In case of talking about projects, dreams and goals, the importance of this question has a rather interesting value and relevance.

Argument is defined as a reasoning that proves, refutes or justifies something, for what we are going to focus on the extremes of this definition: demonstrate and justify. If you have not asked yourself the question, it will be a very interesting exercise: Why do you want, yearn, work, dream to fulfill, visualize and want to fulfill that goal you have set for yourself?

We usually find that answering the why of something is usually an interesting task to perform, for example when the question is asked by a boy or girl who has felt intrigued with the processes and functioning of the world, nature, humanity and reality in general. To argue the why of the precipitation, the why of the greening of nature after autumn, the why of the color of the sky, the why of the heat and the cold... These and other series of questions are usually 'easy' to answer, as long as you have the knowledge on the subject.

Always -or almost always- it is easier to answer those questions than those that make us explore the motives and reasons behind our projects and dreams. These types of answers are usually very common in this context: "I do not know, I always wanted something like this", "I know what I want, but I can’t explain why", "Just ‘cause", "what a difficult question."

For our purpose, to grow, to continue moving forward, to achieve goals and dreams, we will concentrate on that last 'argument'. Really asking ourselves why we want, or not, something is not what is complicated, the difficult thing is to find the answers to that question... Yes, answers.

One reason must lead to another, and that to one more, and so continue until you get to the bottom of the reasons that move that or several projects. An answer will always contain a chain of arguments -or at least it should-, those that should shed light on what we really want and what really moves us to bring our dreams and goals to fruition. That's why that question that can sometimes be so obvious is looked at like that, without considering everything she may come to discover.

"If you've built castles in the air,

your work is not lost; now place

the bases under them."

George Bernard Shaw

Filling ourselves with arguments to fulfill our goals and dreams goes beyond just wanting it, or doing it “just ‘cause”. When you get to the bottom, when you have solved all the whys that come off of answering the question Why do you want or dream of doing or having - - -?, not only will your vision be clearer, you will find more reasons to make it a reality and you will be able to build from those arguments new visions.
