It often happens that we consider, and in many situations we firmly believe, that our success depends on a single attempt, that we only have in our hands the winning shot of the match, the penalty of the 90th minute, only once, and only on that occasion will we be able to achieve success. You might think this is an absolute truth, however, I think something very different.
Surely you have heard that 'he who does not risk, does not win', and it is something very true, the only thing that stands between you and your goals is nothing more than fear, fear of making mistakes, of not knowing, of failing, of not reaching. However, the only thing you need to overcome any fear that may be getting between you and that destiny you want to see come true is the decision to take the first step.
You already took a risk once, maybe you don't remember, but you took a risk to walk, and today you do, you took a risk to talk, and today you do. It hasn't been an easy road, though, has it?. To learn to walk you had to stumble a couple of times, go by someone's hand and crawl. When you learn to speak, you must have tangled your tongue to say 'Mom'. But you took the risk and that's why, today, you can do a lot of things.
Sometimes the fear that stops us does not have to do with hurting our knees, it does not have to do, in fact, with fear. Sometimes what hurts and prevents our growth is the dark and very comfortable comfort zone. The one that says to your ear in a very attractive way: "this is how you are well, why more?" "You're going to spoil an enviable job" "Are you going to risk it for a dream?".
It turns out that the life you want is behind those mental walls. And, I do not know if you have tried to jump or overcome an obstacle, but jumping and overcoming them at the first time is not usually what always happens. Normally you have to do it once, fall, rethink the strategy and try again. And so work the great successes of our society, those that we admire.
"What would life be like,
if we didn't have the courage
to try something new?
Vincent van Gogh
If you already took a chance once, and "failed", there are good news, the first, is that the attempts you have to achieve success are almost limitless (General Sanders, owner of KFC, got his great success at the age of 74), and second, if you have already tried once, it means that you are in the capacity to try two, or three, or four times if necessary.
If you are one of the people who thinks success is a 'lucky punch', you are putting your projects into a single release, and that is very risky. One of the keys to success is to never stop trying, risk getting out of your comfort zone, and risk continuing to make pitches, to continue moving forward despite stumbling, that's why I want to leave you this invitation: Take a risk, not just once, the times that be necessary to achieve your goals. Your future does not depend on a single shot, it depends on doing the necessary until it is done..
