LETTING GO

Usually these words make us think and feel that an important part of us is leaving so as not to return. And that's not bad, in many cases letting go is simply opening your hand to release something you should leave behind, however leaving your hand open for new things should be part of the process.

Have you ever held something very heavy in your hand?, at first it does not seem difficult, however Time begins to advance and there comes a time when your strength begins to give way, your fingers begin to stretch, your hand and your forearm muscles become numb until you simply release. The grip of the hand can become very strong, however, like all muscle groups there comes a moment of breakage, in which the muscle contraction simply will not continue to work, especially when the weight is large. Letting go is not weakness, it is to know that when the muscle can not give more and it is necessary, it's time to give him rest.

When I received my diagnosis I had to let go of many things, including sports: football, basketball, volleyball and many that require, to a large extent, the ability to run - ability that I began to lose for more than 11 years, but that I work to recover day by day - . It was not easy, it was painful, and it was not really a decision, it was almost resignation - coupled with some frustration and disappointment - however it was necessary to open my hand to release limitations, imposed by others and accepted by my subconscious, to begin receiving new things, new dreams and new goals, including the goal of returning to running as it did before.

Letting go for me meant closing doors, but at the same time opening my hands to new ones. When your hand is closed for a long time it hurts to open it, because the body has unconsciously allowed itself to naturalize the weight. When we realize everything that we stop doing or let go by not opening our hands is when we see that we simply have to let go; let go of what limits, the negative, What does not grow so you are in a situation of difficulty.

Opening your hand means letting go to receive new experiences, new people, new knowledge and most importantly-new goals. For me it was finishing my university career, in one of the best universities in Colombia, after going up and down many stairs, and it is today becoming a source of motivation for other people. Letting go also means-and must include-limitations that were only there for grasping more forcefully the excuses and limitations than the infinite possibilities of growth.
